Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated criminal lawyer who is passionate about criminal law and eager to make an impact. As a member of our firm, you will be involved in a wide variety of criminal law matters, with a particular focus on advocacy in court. You will be expected to work independently while also collaborating closely with our experienced team to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in criminal and traffic matters (those that are charged by NSW Police or ODPP), including appearing in court regularly.

Provide legal advice to clients on a range of criminal and traffic law matters.

Draft legal documents, including statements and submissions.

Liaise with members of the NSW Police Force and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Conduct legal research and prepare case notes.

Manage your own caseload of criminal matters from start to finish.

Build strong relationships with clients and provide high-quality client service.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who has:

A current Practicing Certificate in New South Wales.

At least 1 year PQE as a lawyer in the criminal law sector.

Experience in running their own hearings, sentences, bail applications, etc. in the Local Court of NSW.

A passion for criminal law and a desire to build a career in this area.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

A driver’s license and willingness to travel around New South Wales for court appearances.

A strong desire to advocate in court regularly and develop advocacy skills.

A reliable, transparent, and open-to-feedback attitude.

Ability to work independently but also collaborate as part of a supportive and close-knit team.

A genuine desire to contribute to the continued success of the firm and grow professionally.
