About the Role:
At Curtin University, we are committed to empowering students with the skills, experiences, and networks they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world of work.
We are seeking a visionary and strategic manager of career development to lead our dynamic team in delivering innovative, student-centered career development programs and to partner with Recruit Curtin on key employer engagement initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the university’s student career development team, aligning with institutional goals for student employability and graduate success.
Develop and implement forward-thinking career development strategies, programs, and resources that support diverse student cohorts across all faculties.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with students and industry through Recruit Curtin, alumni, academic staff, and professional bodies to expand employment and experiential career development opportunities.
Lead a high-performing team of career development professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Use data and insights to evaluate service effectiveness, inform strategic planning, and report on graduate outcomes and impact.
Represent Curtin Careers in university-wide committees, working groups, and external forums.
We are looking for (selection criteria):
You are a strategic and people-focused leader with a passion for student success and an understanding of the career development landscape. You bring:
Proven experience in managing career services, student engagement, or employability programs within a tertiary education or similar environment.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a variety of stakeholders, particularly academic.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and deliver high-impact programs and services.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
A relevant qualification in career development, learning and/or organizational development, education, business, human resources, or a related field.
Role Requirements:
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
