The role

Our federal government client has a requirement for a procurement officer to assist with the procurement of security equipment. This position will assist in the completion of a global security asset refresh.

Monitoring and supporting procurement activities, including providing advice and support for basic to complex procurement.

Assist in the preparation of procurement approval documentation, including approvals to approach the market, evaluation outcomes, approvals to commit funds, and entering into arrangements.

Present a high level of customer service to internal clients and stakeholders, providing a proactive approach where agency representatives are engaged and feedback is sought.

Establish and maintain strong business relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers, including effectively managing contract inquiries, issues, disputes, and variations; mitigating risks; and undertaking negotiations with suppliers as required.

Preparation and ongoing management of government contracts, simple and complex.

Requirements

Four years' experience working within government procurement.

Thorough understanding of the PGPA Act for complex procurements.

Experience providing oversight of public sector procurement activities.

Ability to undertake analysis of suppliers, markets, products, and service categories to inform procurement planning.

Provide advice on 'best fit' security procurement approaches.

Assist in the administration of tender evaluation reports for consideration and approval.

Ability to assist in the oversight of contract administration activities and monitoring of contract management plans.
