ABOUT US

The Purple Pub is a famous icon in the outback of NW Qld (remote).

We are 700 km west of Cairns and 70 km east of Karumba. It is accessible by sealed road for car or bus and by plane. You will see plenty of kangaroos and cattle on the roadsides and crocodiles in the rivers.

We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We are a happy family pub with karaoke each second Saturday and pool competition each Thursday night.

We provide for staff onsite air-conditioned accommodation with its own TV and fridge, and meals (lunch and dinner) are provided free to all employees if they have an employment agreement with us.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated cook with experience.

To be successful in this role, you must have a high level of customer service, time management, and coordination skills. You will be hands-on in your approach and thrive on achieving outstanding results with the team. You will have passion for delivering quality food.

Opportunity as an ALL-ROUNDER to assist in other areas of the pub such as the bar, housekeeping, and bottle shop...

Your responsibilities include.

Generate economic orders for Produce and dry goods to satisfy the bistro menu and meals for staff (lunch and dinner). 

Preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with food and service standards.

Ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals.

Timely and economically conscious delivery of meals for staff and customers.

Work and coordinate with a small team comprised of people from a wide range of backgrounds.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE--

Trade qualifications are not required, but relevant experience is.

Sound knowledge of food safety.

Positive attitude and professional manner.

Must have at least a year of relevant work experience.

The kitchen operates on a 7-day week.

As this is a full-time position, it is unsuitable for cooks looking for 88 days or sponsorship.
