The City of Busselton is looking for a Senior Development Planner to bring expertise, leadership, and vision to our dynamic team.

As a Senior Development Planner, you’ll lead the assessment of development and subdivision applications, provide expert advice to Council, and lead a talented team of planners while influencing key decisions that will define our city’s future.

What you’ll do:

Take the lead on complex development and subdivision assessments.

Mentor and support a team of planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Provide sound, planning advice to Council and stakeholders.

Ensure development aligns with planning legislation, policy, and the City’s long-term vision.

Use your delegated authority to make informed, impactful decisions that support sustainable growth.

What you’ll bring to the role:

You will align with our values and ideally have the following competencies:

Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, or similar qualification.

Minimum three years’ experience in town planning in Western Australia.

Highly developed interpersonal and collaborative negotiation skills.

Highly developed verbal communication and presentation skills.

Highly developed analytical, conceptual and design skills.
