About the role
We are seeking skilled and motivated nurses to join our multidisciplinary team in our Haematology/Oncology Ward, which specialises in Inpatient and Outpatient Chemotherapy for both Oncology and Haematology patients, Symptom Management and End of Life Care. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, and we are seeking like-minded individuals to join our ranks.
In addition to working on our busy medical ward, there is an opportunity to work in our Day Infusion room providing day chemotherapy, blood product support and Cold Caps therapy as an extension of Kimberley House Day Oncology.
We offer a range of permanent, part-time, and fixed-term contracts to suit your needs, as well as training and development opportunities to enhance your skills in the management of CVADS and the administration of Cytotoxics, Immunotherapy and Blood products. Our team is committed to supporting your professional growth and helping you achieve your career goals. We have a specialised Oncology Educator to provide extra support.
Key Responsibilities
Using a patient centred approach to patient assessment
Maintaining high quality care for each patient
Evaluating outcomes of care and initiating appropriate follow-up
Develop patient care pathways which consider priorities, time frames actions and outcomes.
Evaluating and altering the patient care pathways in relation to changing patient needs in consultation with the Clinical Manager/Clinical Nurse/ Multi Disciplinary team.
What you bring
AHPRA Registration
Demonstrated clinical experience in haematology/oncology nursing
Completion of ADAC certification
Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of the National Standards for Safety and Quality in Healthcare, relevant legislations, policies and procedures
A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
