About the Opportunity
EduCare Specialist Services is seeking an experienced and passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to provide life-changing support to children, teens and adults with disabilities, while working within a professional, highly collaborative, and deeply values-driven environment.
As part of our behaviour support team, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based services that empower families, build capacity, and help young people reach their full potential. Supported by a multidisciplinary network — including Psychiatry, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and more — you'll be joining a workplace committed to excellence, growth, and genuine teamwork.
What You'll Do
Conduct functional behaviour assessments and analyse behavioural needs.
Develop high-quality, person-centred Behaviour Support Plans aligned with NDIS guidelines.
Provide direct intervention using positive behaviour support approaches.
Train, coach, and guide families, carers and educators to ensure consistent implementation.
Monitor progress using data-driven analysis and adjust plans to support continuous improvement.
Collaborate effectively across disciplines to deliver holistic and integrated care.
Respond calmly and safely to incidents, using sound de-escalation principles.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation to meet NDIS standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practice.
Advocate for the rights and dignity of children and young people with disabilities.
What We're Looking For
NDIS-registered Behaviour Support Practitioner (current at time of application).
BSP Proficiency level qualification (preferable); Degree-level desirable.
3-4+ years of experience supporting children, teens and adults with disabilities.
Strong understanding of NDIS behaviour support requirements.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-functioning team.
Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to person-centred practice.
Ideally some experience with restrictive practices
