About Us

Future Careers Insights offers its services by The National Institute of Education (NIE) brand name. NIE has been Australia's leading provider of UCAT preparation, medical interview training, and career experience programs since 1999. We help aspiring medical and dental students gain admission to competitive university programs through expert-led courses, workshops, and immersive programs delivered across Australia — from Sydney and Melbourne to Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, and regional centres.

Our portfolio includes over 100 course products and programs spanning UCAT preparation, medical and dental interview coaching, GAMSAT training, psychometric test preparation, and our flagship Future Doctors Australia career experience program. We also publish educational resources through our online bookshop and deliver academic insights programs in partnership with leading universities.

We are a small, high-performing team operating from an office on the Central Coast, NSW. Our business model relies on a lean core team supported by a national network of specialist tutors, medical professionals, and external contractors. We are entering an exciting growth phase and are looking for a marketing professional who can take ownership of our entire marketing function and drive our expansion into new markets and channels.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on marketing role for an experienced professional who thrives on autonomy and ownership. You will be the sole dedicated marketing resource in the business, supported by external service providers, and responsible for the complete marketing function — from strategic planning and market research through to campaign execution, content creation, design production, and performance reporting. You will report directly to the company directors and have full ownership of the marketing strategy, budget, and output.

This is a long-term position. We are looking for a candidate interested in long-term development with the business. Our team values stability and continuity — we invest significantly in onboarding and integrating new team members into our workflows, and we are looking for a marketing professional who wants to grow with the company over time.

The role is based at our office on the Central Coast (Gosford region), with a hybrid arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. Some travel to Sydney and other Australian cities will be required for events, workshops, and program delivery coordination throughout the year.

The role requires someone who can move seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and detailed hands-on execution. On any given day, you might be analysing enrolment data to identify growth opportunities, designing a brochure for an upcoming workshop series, negotiating advertising placements with media partners, updating website content, producing social media campaigns, or coordinating logistics for a multi-city event program. This is not a role for someone who prefers to specialise in one area of marketing — we need a versatile, resourceful professional who can do it all.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Planning

Develop and execute comprehensive annual marketing plans aligned with business objectives and seasonal program cycles (UCAT testing periods, school holidays, university application deadlines)

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth, new audience segments, and emerging trends in the education and test preparation sector

Prepare detailed marketing budgets, forecasts, and ROI analyses for all campaigns and initiatives

Present strategic recommendations to company directors with supporting data and market intelligence

Digital Marketing and Website Management

Manage and update the company's websites, ensuring all content is current, optimised for search engines, and aligned with brand standards

Plan and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels — including search advertising, social media advertising, SEO/SEM, and display advertising

Manage email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation, automated sequences, newsletter production, and performance tracking

Monitor and report on website analytics, campaign performance, and conversion metrics using Google Analytics and platform-native tools

Content Creation and Design

Design and produce marketing collateral including program brochures, course catalogues, flyers, presentation decks, social media graphics, and promotional materials

Create, schedule, and manage content across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter/X), maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity

Produce and edit video content for YouTube and social media channels, including course previews, testimonials, and promotional clips — using both in-house capabilities and external videographers

Write compelling marketing copy for websites, advertisements, email campaigns, landing pages, and print materials

Advertising and Media

Research, negotiate, and manage advertising placements across digital and traditional media channels, including education portals, school newsletters, community publications, and online platforms

Create and manage paid advertising campaigns, including audience targeting, A/B testing, bid management, and budget optimisation

Track advertising spend and performance across all channels, providing regular reports with recommendations for optimisation

Events and Program Promotion

Coordinate marketing and logistics support for the company's nationwide program delivery, including multi-city workshop tours and career experience programs delivered across multiple Australian states

Develop and execute promotional campaigns for individual events, including pre-event marketing, registration management, on-site materials, and post-event follow-up

Build and maintain relationships with schools, career advisors, education agents, and other referral partners across Australia

Systems, Tools, and Reporting

Manage and maintain the company's CRM and operational systems to track leads, enrolments, customer interactions, and marketing pipeline

Coordinate scheduling and booking systems for consultations, webinars, and program registrations

Prepare monthly marketing performance reports with clear KPIs, insights, and actionable recommendations

Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers (web developers, graphic designers, videographers, printers) to deliver projects on time and within budget
