About the role
Council’s legal team is an effective and cohesive unit which works to a high standard to support Council’s operations. This position will be responsible for responding to Council’s legal needs with a focus on planning, property, commercial, contract and environmental law but also advising across all areas of Council’s operations.
While you will be required to work autonomously in day-to-day activities, you will also collaborate with fellow legal professionals within the team on a diverse range of matters.

We are looking for a lawyer with 0 to 1 year of post admission experience. The position offered will fill a Lawyer (Level 1) position within the Legal Services Team.
Remuneration
100,372.48 to 113,309.04 + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
Knowledge of and experience in planning, environmental, property law and/or commercial law and other cognate legislation
Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to inspire or support innovative thinking
Understanding of and commitment to ethical practice and always acting with probity
Demonstrated proficiency in using corporate computer applications, accompanied by a strong commitment to ongoing enhancement of IT capabilities.
