About the Role
Education Support Officer to Student Counsellor
Permanent Part-Time 2 Days per week to 8:30am - 3:30pm
41 weeks per year (During School Terms)
We are seeking a qualified and experienced ?and qualified Student Counsellor to join our Primary Campus. This role is pivotal in supporting the emotional, social and learning development needs of students through the provision of professional counselling services. Working collaboratively with school leadership, staff, families, and external agencies, the Student Counsellor will help foster a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and small group counselling for students, addressing social, emotional and wellbeing needs.
Maintain accurate and confidential case notes, files and reports in central data management system (SEQTA).
Collaborate with educators to develop strategies and resources that support student wellbeing and resilience.
Liaise with families, allied health professionals and external agencies to ensure support for students.
Liaise with leaders and teachers to provide suitable strategies to support students in the classroom and play spaces.
Assist in the development of pastoral care programs and transition initiatives.
Contribute to policy development and best-practice approaches for student wellbeing.
Requirements
A tertiary qualification in Counselling (or equivalent) and experience in a similar role, particularly working with children and young people.
Current Working with Children Check and screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia.
Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect to Education and Care certification.
First Aid qualification.
