About Us

Assisi Aged Care (Assisi) is a single site residential aged care service, located in North Eastern Melbourne in the leafy suburb of Rosanna. It was established as a not-for-profit religious and charitable organisation for Melbourne’s elderly Italian community. Assisi is close to public transport and 30 minutes from the city.

The Role

We are looking for a suitably qualified Personal Care Worker with prior experience working in residential aged care and who possess permanent working rights in Australia, to join a motivated and committed team providing quality care for our Italian residents.

A Permanent Part Time position is available working a minimum of 4 night shifts per fortnight from 9.30pm to 7.30am (Wednesday and Thursday). You may nominate for additional available shifts that occur due to unexpected leave.

Responsibilities include:

Deliver care and services to residents that reflect the physical, social and emotional needs and preferences of residents

Support residents independence, dignity and preferences.

Support the night time care routine

Document care provided

Work cooperatively with other members of the care team.

Key Selection Criteria

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Certificate IV In Ageing Support (or equivalent)

Experience working in residential aged care

Prior experience working night shift

Effective time management and organisational skills

Effective interpersonal communication skills

Kindness and empathetic understanding of the needs of older persons

Sound computer skills

Ability to speak Italian is highly regarded

The permanent right to work in Australia

A satisfactory police check
