To work as an Paraplanner and Personal Assistant in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, processing commissions, fees and expenses, reconciling accounts, issuing invoices, writing reports, dealing with clients and insurance companies and providing support to an Independent Financial Adviser and his Paraplanner.
Applicant does not need to have experience in the Financial Services industry, but a background in bookkeeping would be an advantage. You must be bright as there is a lot to learn, motivated, and above all a hard worker.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a very wide range of different areas, in a small firm, on a full time basis.
Salary: R12k - R20k pm (depending upon qualifications and experience).
Working hours are 9.00am until 6pm. It is essential that you speak perfect English as your first language, as all our clients are in the UK, and that you have excellent writing skills.
Bookkeeping Duties: Entering new business into our proprietary back office system, Entering expenses (receipts) into our accounting system, Downloading, processing and reconciliation of bank, commission and fee statements, Creation of client invoices, and following up on payment, Production of six monthly accounts for the Regulator, Document management on PC
Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain records, spreadsheets and databases
PA & Paraplanning Duties: Contacting clients to make appointments for the adviser, and managing his diary, Tracking when clients last seen and booking annual reviews, Emailing newsletters etc. to groups of clients, Handling client's emails and phone calls, Phone clients to complete missing financial details after first meeting, Chasing clients for application forms, outstanding information and fees, Submission of new business applications using our proprietary software, Switching and rebalancing client's investments, Reconciling appointments in diary management system, Following up on actions from client meetings within agreed timescales, Completing application forms and letters for clients to sign, Tracking down email addresses for orphan clients, Confirm all Regulatory Requirements have been met for client files, Writing Suitability Letters for clients (based on templates), Update financial information on PC with clients before review meetings, Updating Assets Under Management and Preparing client reports and annual reviews, Attend to client queries, Management of investment properties
Requirements: You must have excellent telephone & communication skills, You must have a good work ethic, be reliable, resourceful and independent, Excellent computer skills with strong technological abilities, as we are a paperless office, Enjoy sharing responsibility, but happy to work on your own at times
