Support Worker

The role will involve supporting a 26 year old young man with Level 3 Autism and Mild Intellectual Impairment who plays a lot of sport.

We are looking for an additional Support Worker who:

Has a positive, calm, compassionate and understanding nature. Has the values of respect, inclusion and integrity.

Is physically fit with sporting ability (preferably running) as this young man is a very fast runner and the position requires keeping up with him if he runs.

Has a willingness to learn about this particular disability and what the position requires. Induction training and ongoing support will be provided. Understands the importance of reliability, punctuality, responsibility and honesty.

Has excellent communication skills with an eagerness to give excellent service.

Can work autonomously and under direction.

Has the ability to speak English clearly and concisely as this is important for the client.

Can work regular hours, but with some flexibility. Current hours available are 8-16 per week.

Is a non-smoker as this is important to the client.

Is currently a contractor with own ABN and Support Worker Insurance or a willingness to set up this type of working arrangement. Set up assistance provided.

An appreciation for music, art and gardening is desirable but not essential.

To be considered for this position candidate must have:

A Disability Worker Screening Clearance

Own reliable transport and drivers licence
