Full Time Duty Manager

The Robin Hood Hotel is a Family owned and operated business located in the Eastern Suburb of Norwood.

Featuring an 85+ seat restaurant, indoor and outdoor bars and dining facilities, flexible function spaces and a 27 machine gaming room.

We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our team in a full time capacity , providing leadership to Staff and outstanding Customer service.

Working closely with our Venue Manager, Head Chef and Function and Events Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management and efficiency of the Restaurant, Function areas, Bars and Gaming. Oversee training and development of Staff while engaging with Customers and providing a hands on approach to service.

Key responsibilities

Oversee all operational activities during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth running of front-of-house and back-of-house departments

Manage and supervise staff, providing direction, support and leadership to ensure optimal performance and customer service delivery

Handle guest relations and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, working to resolve issues promptly and maintain guest satisfaction

Monitor compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards across all areas of the hotel

Manage financial transactions, including cash handling, point-of-sale systems and revenue reconciliation

Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation for each shift, including incident reports and handover notes

Ensure bar and restaurant areas are maintained to the highest standards

Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and quality delivery of food and beverages

Respond to emergency situations and implement appropriate protocols and procedures

Contribute to staff training and development initiatives

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Duty Manager, Hotel Manager or similar management position within the hospitality industry

Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and tact

Sound knowledge of hotel operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions

Proficiency in hospitality management systems and point-of-sale software

Strong financial acumen, including cash handling and basic bookkeeping

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Knowledge of relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to operational challenges

Relevant hospitality qualifications or certificates (such as RSA, RSG or hospitality management qualifications) are highly desirable
