Recently named Property Specialist Accountant of the Year 2026, we are scaling our team and looking for an experienced senior accountant who wants to grow with us, take ownership of a client portfolio, and help shape how we deliver exceptional service.
The opportunity
As a Senior Accountant you will manage the full compliance and advisory lifecycle for a portfolio of individual, business, company and SMSF clients. You will be a trusted point of contact for clients, a mentor to junior team members, and a driver of the systems and processes that keep us running smoothly. You will report directly to the Director.
What you’ll do
Prepare and lodge individual, business, company and SMSF tax returns within due dates.
Manage BAS, IAS, GST and payroll compliance.
Assist clients with tax planning, business structuring and advisory services.
Conduct financial reporting, budgeting and cash flow analysis.
Liaise with the ATO, ASIC and other regulatory bodies.
Stay up to date with tax laws and compliance changes.
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and HandiLedger.
Build strong client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service.
Work both independently and collaboratively within the team.
Support and mentor junior team members through training and guidance.
Help improve internal workflows, systems and processes to support operational efficiency and high-quality client service.
What you’ll bring
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in public practice or a comparable accounting role.
A current professional qualification — CA, CPA or IPA (essential, at minimum).
Deep, current knowledge of Australian tax law, BAS/IAS/GST and payroll compliance.
Hands-on proficiency with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and HandiLedger.
Experience preparing and reviewing individual, company, trust and SMSF returns.
Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
A mentoring mindset and the ability to lift the people around you.
Excellent attention to detail and the discipline to meet lodgement deadlines.
Nice to have
Experience advising property investors or property-related entities.
Exposure to business structuring and advisory engagements.
A track record of improving systems, workflows or automation in a practice.
