Arts Consulting Group, Inc. (ACG) is the leading provider of hands-on interim management, executive search, revenue enhancement consulting, facilities & program planning, and organizational development services for the arts and culture industry. ACG is currently in New York, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, and Denver with consultants located throughout North America to best serve the needs of its clients. ACG’s goal is to help its clients achieve the delicate balance between organizational impact and business sustainability.

POSITION: Reporting to a practice area Vice President, the Associate Vice Presidents (AVPs) will lead and/or be part of various ACG project teams to develop, assess, and deliver successful client outcomes. AVPs will be flexible in working across all service areas to meet the needs and exceed client expectations in quality of personalized service. Additionally, AVPs will play a key role in the regional and national growth of ACG by cultivating new clients, effective relationship building, networking, and public visibility as a leader in the arts and culture field.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas: Project Leadership and Support, 1) Manage project teams and facilitate client projects, as needed. 2) Participate on project teams across practice areas, as needed. 3) Meet mutually agreed upon goals and objectives, including “on time, on budget, on scope” for all client projects on which you work. 4) Focus on the effective and efficient use of time and resources in meeting project goals and associated client and firm deliverables. 5) Follow firm methodologies, policies, procedures, and project reporting guidelines and assist in their development. 6) Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive scopes of work, deliverables, budgets, and proposals with practice area Vice President and General Manager. 7) Embrace other project leadership and support roles and responsibilities, as needed.

Client Cultivation and Business Development: 1) Build the brand, visibility, and presence of ACG locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. 2) Participate in industry conferences, attend significant cultural events, and otherwise demonstrate firm and consultant expertise. 3) Seek ACG consulting projects proactively. 4) Report client successes and testimonials that can effectively demonstrate ACG’s positive impacts. 5) Write articles, blogs, and other materials that focus on the firm’s competencies and the industry’s needs. 6) Embrace other client cultivation and business development roles and responsibilities, as needed.

Team Participation and Firm Capacity Building: 1) Create synergy within a geographically dispersed team through regular conference calls, meetings, and summits. 2) Maintain clear operational and brand distinction for Arts Consulting Group by developing, adhering to, and ensuring adherence to firm policies and style guidelines. 3) Demonstrate advanced internet, e-mail, and overall computer proficiency for efficient electronic communications and presentations. 4) Support the mission, vision  and values of ACG. 5) Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the firm. 6) Participate in ongoing education programs, training, meetings, and other aspects of maintaining the highest level of knowledge within the industry. 7) Engage in an adaptive strategy process and recommend performance measures that focus on achieving the mutually established vision, mission, goals and objectives of the firm. 8) Embrace other team participation and firm capacity building roles and responsibilities, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree is required with a Master’s degree preferred and a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in the arts and culture field, creative industries, or similar sector. Additional certifications or educational accomplishments appreciated. Experience is required in at least one of the following functional areas: interim management (i.e. organizational and/or departmental leadership); executive search (i.e. identifying, cultivating, recruiting, hiring, managing, mentoring, and/or guiding high performance teams); revenue enhancement (i.e. fundraising, marketing, or related areas); facilities & program planning (i.e. project feasibility, development, management, and/or implementation); and organizational development (i.e. strategic planning, cultural master planning, organizational collaborations, team building, executive coaching, infrastructure assessment/benchmarking, or related areas). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and superior organizational capabilities are required. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and depth of internet research capabilities are essential based on area of expertise.
