Fish Market, Franchise Operations Manager, Based in JHB

Introduction: We are looking for a proactive, energetic and experienced franchise operations manager to oversee and control franchise standards in our group of nationally located restaurants. The successful candidate must ensure that franchisees operate their restaurants in compliance with franchisor standards and that all systems, processes, policies and tools are utilized by franchisees to assist them in achieving sales and profit targets, operational excellence and superior customer experiences.

Key responsibilities: 1. Provide expertise and advice in the areas of restaurant operations, franchise standards, financial and administrative management, systems and controls, staff co-ordination and best practice, marketing, product knowledge, health, hygiene and safety requirements and customer service

2. Unplanned site visits to conduct evaluations and compile store assessment reports, which are communicated to the franchisee together with a detailed action plan for restaurant improvement and compliance

3. Develop the operations and training manual, policies and procedures

4. Conduct reviews of restaurants (together with franchisees) to determine challenges and problems and thereafter to assist in correcting and eradicating these issues together with better planning and management organization to help achieve operational success and profitability

5. Communicate with and train management on all store and franchise policies, standards and procedures

6. Co-ordinate and facilitate new store openings and re-openings after revamps

7. Manage and make sure customer complaints are satisfactorily resolved

Minimum requirements: Previous experience of at least 5 years within a similar position and environment. Preference will be shown to candidates who have also had experience in restaurant general management with exposure to both back and front of house areas. The right candidate must have strong communication skills (both written and verbal), be able to work independently and have an ability to influence. They must also be prepared to travel and work extended hours, which may include evenings and some weekends.
