Developmental Service Worker (for Group Homes)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Part Time, On Call, Shift, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening
Salary: $16.25 Hourly for 24 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Hamilton area, Ontario (3 vacancies )
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, First Aid Certificate
Experience: Experience an asset
Work Setting: Group home
Target Groups or Clients: Persons who are blind/visually impaired, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Persons with learning disabilities
Type of Community or Social Service: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders)
Specific Skills: Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs
Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation
Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check, Medical exam
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding
