Revenue Accountant, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine - Finance Office, Location: London, Salary: £43,312 to £46,040 per annum inclusive, Hours: Full Time, Contract Type: Permanent

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is seeking a qualified accountant or studying for the final level exams with ACCA, CIPFA or ICAEW with a strong background in financial accounting to fill the post of Revenue Accountant in the Finance Department. The successful candidate will be expected to have substantial experience of at least 10 years and strong management skills.

The School upgraded its accounting system (Agresso) to level 5.5 in 2012 to benefit from electronic workflow and web-enabled reporting and will be implementing a further Agresso upgrade to 5.7 Milestone 5 in 2016.

The Finance Department plays a key part in this process and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to further developments of systems and the introduction of further improvements to processes. New fundraising initiatives, foreign currency cash management, new commercial activities, a wide range of tax issues and charitable trust fund accounting will all provide varied and interesting challenges. The post offers a good mix of both “hands-on” accounting and staff management.
