Casual Position - Medical Receptionist, Lambton Dermatology, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter, Casual Position – 2 - 3 Days per week. We are seeking a casual receptionist/secretary to join our friendly team at our very busy dermatology practice.

Position Description: Attend the front desk – includes checking in patients, answer phone calls, make appointments, updating patient information, invoicing and receiving payments, medicare/veteran affairs claiming. General administrative tasks including typing, photocopying, filing, scanning, faxing, processing faxes/mail/emails, confirming appointments.

Maintain efficient record keeping and filing systems – including the handling of confidential information. Monitor stock and supplies. Working occasional extra shifts for other staff as necessary. At times this position may also involve assisting the Doctor during procedures, following sterilising procedures/protocols and maintaining a tidy and fully-stocked procedure room.

The successful applicant will possess as many of the following skills and attributes as possible: Excellent communication skills. Be professional, courteous, discreet and friendly with patients. Ability to multi-task and to work under pressure as there are times when this practice is extremely busy. Strong focus on attention  to detail and accurate record keeping. Organisational skills – including ability to prioritise, time and workload management, maintain tidy work area. Ability to work flexibly within a small team or to work independently to achieve results. Previous medical secretary/receptionist experience. Experienced and proficient with computer software – experience with Genie medical software is an advantage.
