Research Fellow, University College London - Research Department of Haematology, Location: London. Salary: £35,328 to £42,701 UCL Grade 7 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Hours: Full Time. Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract.

The Cancer Research UK City of London (CRUK CoL) Centre is being established to focus on the development, manufacture and precision application of biological therapies through bringing together over 350 researchers at the partner Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Centres (at University College London (UCL), Barts/QMUL, and Kings College London (KCL)), the Francis Crick Institute, their associated NHS Trusts, and national and international research networks. This role is hosted by the UCL Cancer Institute on behalf of the CRUK CoL Centre. The main purpose of this post is to deliver GMP manufacture of manipulated T-cells for clinical trial, scale-up and validate novel GMP manufacture methods for application and bring novel CAR T-cell and other T-cell therapy projects to clinical trial.  The post is initially funded until 31/03/2022.

A post have become available for a Research Fellow to become a key part of the GMP cell manufacture team. The successful candidate must have (or be studying towards) a PhD, or possess equivalent experience, ideally in Immunology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry or Genetics. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD: if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £30,922-£32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. Candidates will also have an MSc or equivalent experience ideally in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Genetics and experience in molecular cloning, viral transduction and genome editing.
