General Manager, Location: Sandton, Johannesburg. A well-known coffee and bakery brand require the skills and expertise of an experienced General/Operations Manager in Sandton.  The General Manager is responsible for the direct management of the site’s restaurant, wholesale and service operations including the staffing, supply chain management, product management and ensuring that the various retail disciplines are adhered to.

Duties include: Stock Management. Quality Control. Food safety and planning. Customer Service. Food and Wholesale Production. Staff Management. Product Development. Financial Control and budgeting. Key Account Management. New business development and implementation. Skills and requirements. Attention to detail – ability to keep eyes on food standards, costs, safety etc.

Management – ability to deal with food and the associated costs, pricing, creating work schedules etc. Problem solving skills – ability to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give orders and speak with customers clearly. Proven experience as quality controller and/or food service management. Display good financial knowledge and understanding. Knowledge of cost of production. Good people skills – communication, leadership, and empowerment. Innovative and able to adapt to change. Handle multiple priorities, work under stress and exercise good judgment. 3 – 5 years experience in similar industry. Chef / Hospitality qualification advantageous Salary market related.
