Location: City Centre, Cape Town, Position Held: General Assistant / Houseman / Maintenance Term: Fixed Term Contract. Property: 91 Loop Boutique Hostel. Maintains and cleans all outside areas of the hostel including the guest rooms. He also assists with any general duties that may be required by a manager or other staff member.

Duties Include but not limited to: To ensure all outside areas, including public areas and rooms, are swept and kept tidy. This includes all recycling bins. Assist guests with their luggage on arrival and departure if and when required. Assist housekeepers where necessary in high dusting cleaning. Clean and wipe all outside lights and sign boards. Taking out bins on rubbish collection days and cleaning of the bins after collection. Check all main public areas and arrival room bulbs and change where necessary.

Put out cushions in the courtyard. Check in front and round all rooms for rubbish. Cleaning of all public area windows. Clean all walls in the public areas. Cleaning of all aircon vents in rooms. Water the plants in the restaurant and courtyard. Clean maintenance store. Clean basement area regularly. Cleaning the shower traps. Cleaning of the Shower air vents. Deep cleaning of unoccupied rooms. Assist housekeeping with linen. General Maintenance upkeep, tasks and projects. Checking Room Doors, Lockers and Safe batteries and change if required.

Remuneration: R 20.74 per hour based on a max 5 days per week. Wages are paid on a bi-weekly bases. Average bi-weekly wage expectations +-R 2000.00.
