The Manager of Marketing, PR and Community Engagement will be responsible for successfully professionalizing and overseeing Southampton Arts Center's marketing, communication and community outreach efforts to ensure our brand and voice are well represented in public as we promote our programming and content.

Responsibilities include: Create, manage and execute annual marketing campaigns to promote our institution, programming, membership and events with a view toward growing and diversifying SAC’s audience. Align with Executive Director and Artistic Director on the key institutional messages to ensure consistency in our organization’s message

Devise and engage in grass roots efforts to attract the various and diverse members of our community to attend and engage with SAC. Regularly create and execute enticing content for SAC’s Facebook and Instagram accounts to promote engagement with an eye to sharable content, as well as setting up events and strategic promoted posts, with a view toward attracting new follower expanding SAC’s digital footprint

Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about SAC, our partners and other East End organizations. Create and manage SAC’s annual marketing budget. Manage and seek to expand relationships with our various media partners. Compile marketing copy and images for all design projects for printed materials, digital and print media, signage; work with outside vendors and designers. Use design programs or online platforms (such as Canva or PowerPoint) to create additional marketing, donor and institutional materials (including sponsorship decks) for both print and digital use.

Maintain SAC website through WordPress. Schedule and design eblasts through MailChimp and organize eblasts with media partners. Manage the updating and organization of master mailing list. Write and distribute press releases and pitches; establish and maintain press contacts and relationships. Produce original marketing related content: blog posts, stories, graphics, photos, audio, video, etc.

Keep an organized database of press ready photos for institutional use and publicity purposes. Perform audience and partner research across programmatic areas of focus. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Full-time: Monday-Friday and weekends as needed. On-site at Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton, NY. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance (with partial contribution by employee).

Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in marketing, communications or related field with proven track record of results; non-profit or performing arts experience a plus. Be a creative problem solver with a passion for the arts. Be a self-starter who can receive collaborative direction but also work independently. Be an efficient and detail-oriented worker producing quality work on both short and long-term projects. Be observant, curious, friendly, kind, respectful, supportive of others. Have the ability to communicate effectively and in a timely way with external and internal constituencies.

Technical Skills: Graphic design skills are a plus — candidates must know Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva. Superior writing abilities with demonstrated experience. Experience in Google Docs, Pages/Microsoft Word, Keynote/PowerPoint, Publisher, Dropbox. Expertise with professional Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and up-and-coming social media platforms and explore scheduled posts through programs such as Hootsuite. Experience or familiarity with Brown Paper Tickets, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, and WordPress

Should be a quick learner to be able to manage various programs and get up to speed quickly where needed.
