Our client, a leading national packaging company, has a vacancy for a Bookkeeper (Payroll and Commercial) on their Finance team. Based in Pinetown and reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following outputs: Weekly and monthly Payroll analysis, backup, GL recons and recons on staff loan ledger accounts. EMP201 calculations and EMP recon and submission. Preparation of annual wage budgets and monthly updates when required. Preparation of, inputting and updating monthly wage forecasts

Compiling annual increase schedules for wages. Compiling annual bonus (+voucher) schedules for wages. Monthly HR report - input data. Credit control Capex control Arrange, set up and control financing process for HPs. Weekly Exec stats compilation. Journal preparation and processing. General housekeeping and filing. Ad hoc duties as required from time to time.

Minimum criteria required in order to be considered for the role: Matric certificate, preferably with Mathematics and/or Accounting. Certificate / Diploma in basic accounting (exposure to payroll would be advantageous). A minimum of 5 years' experience in a bookkeeping position. Sage People knowledge advantageous. Kronos time & attendance knowledge advantageous. Ability to communicate on all levels across the department.

A good administrative track record. Excellent MS Excel skills. Attention to detail. Excellent numeric skills.
