Afrikaans Diesel Mechanic/ Technical Assistant (Non-EE) – DBN, Waterfall, West Suburbs.

An established national transport company urgently seeks to hire a skilled and experienced Technical Assistant with a Red Seal Diesel Mechanic qualification. The successful candidate will be based at the Durban branch (western suburbs). Must be proficient in verbal and written Afrikaans communication.

Duties & Responsibilities: To maintain a small fleet of trucks and commercial vehicles at the Durban branch.

- With emergency only, to stand in as Code 14 local/ long-distance backup truck driver.

- To assist with technical/ other operational responsibilities at the Durban branch.

Minimum Requirements: Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent.

- Red Seal Diesel Mechanic qualification.

- 3 to 5 years practical Diesel Mechanic experience.

- Valid SA Code 14 (EC) driver’s license & PrDP (at least GP).

- Mechanical & driving experience with Hino trucks highly beneficial.

- Driving experience with a link/ single-axle dolly drawbar trailer highly beneficial.

- Good verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans & English.

- Computer literate.

- Stable work record with contactable references.  No job hoppers.

Package & Remuneration R25 000.00 - R30 000 p/m CTC.
