Project Manager (Cape Town), Other, Cape Town. Project Manager (Cape Town). A leading services organization is searching for Project manager to form part of their team. Your role will revolve around managing the projects of the various functional departments, contributing to project management best practice, managing timelines, prioritization and resource planning while maintaining the project dashboard. Taking instruction from a senior executive, you will serve as the primary point of responsibility for all project management. This is a new role with great potential for it to develop, as well as the opportunity for you to shape the role going forward.

Responsibilities: Co-managing project planning sessions and reporting meetings. Managing key deliverables with the functional heads. Managing project progress and amendments by effectively tracking projects. Coordinating internal resources. Concurrently managing several projects. Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope. Contributing to project update meetings with the Client. Providing monthly and ad-hoc project reports for the Client.

Effectively Reporting and escalating issues to the leadership team as needed. Ensuring resource availability and allocation. Developing project scopes and objectives. Managing all project documentation such as scoping, amendments and completion sign-off  documents. Designing a risk mitigation plan to minimize project risk.

Measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Exploring best-fit yet cost effective tools which allow for better and more efficient project management. Optimising and improving project management processes. Contributing towards the development of a project management policy. Training and upskilling staff on basic project management methodology and best practice.

Requirements: Matric Certificate, At least 3 years proven experience in a similar role. A project management qualification would be beneficial but not essential (e.g. Scrum master, Prince, PMP). Demonstrable experience in project and delivery management. A high level of planning ability, organization and structure whilst being able to “own the space”. An effective communicator, both verbally and written. A team player whilst having the ability to operate independently. The ability to work in a highly pressurized environment. The ability to stand your ground, and “push back” in a professional way where required A strong ability to manage in an environment of complexity, constant change and competing demands.
