PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the PG Hospice Society, this is a senior management position responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Rotary Hospice House. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of staff and developing and maintaining procedures which enhance the day-to-day operation of the Hospice House.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 Bachelors Degree in Nursing with supervisory and management experience, preferably in a unionized health care environment, or a related combination of education, training and experience. Applicants should have a working knowledge of human resources management concepts, practices and legislation.
 Excellent interpersonal, communications and leadership skills, ability to foster progressive ideas and practices, promote team building, and encourage and maintain good working relationships between staff and management.
 Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality.
 Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and be respectful and non-judgmental of people’s beliefs and wishes.
 Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound well thought out decisions.
 Develops relationships with health care professionals to facilitate their referrals to Rotary Hospice House.
 Promotes and follows safety regulations
