Sales Assistant – internal, Kuils River, Northern Suburbs. Company Name: SHEVS. Busy medium sized ventilation company located in Blackheath, Cape town requires sales assistant seeking a career in the building services industry.

Reporting to the sales manager, the work involves a considerable amount of sales prospecting for new clients using telephone, Google maps, and other standard prospecting techniques.

Duties and responsibilities: Drive new business in the field of servicing and maintenance of smoke ventilation systems. Initially the position is internal desk based, but as experience is gained, sales calls to clients will be an increasing part of the work, eventually leading to a full time external sales position.

Experience: Some knowledge of the property industry or property insurance background would be advantageous. Familiarity with email, Microsoft Office suite is essential, as is a good standard of arithmetic. Once the training phase is complete, preparation of quotations, and telephonic follow ups of outstanding quotations. Telephone canvassing

It is essential that the candidate has the ability to pro-actively make many phone calls each day, to locate and contact the relevant decision maker and introduce the company's services to them. Therefore the ability to converse on the phone in a confident and clear manner is essential. Languages, English - read, write and speak is essential, Afrikaans is considered desirable but not essential.

Qualifications: The chosen candidate will certainly have a matriculation certificate with reasonable grades. Technical qualifications such as engineering will be advantageous.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications between R8,000 and R12,000 per month.

Expenses, Out of pocket expenses are paid, Commission. At the end of the probation period, if the position becomes permanent generous performance linked commissions will be paid each month. Probation period, Usually 3 months, but may be reduced depending on performance. Status during the probabtion period the position must be accepted as a short term contract.
