We are looking for an energetic single and creative person to join our team as Chef. Your passion for food must shine through in each meal. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that food service at the reserve is second to none. You are also responsible for working with the Reserve Management couple to make sure that every guest has an incredible stay at our reserve. It is your attention to detail and your commitment to first-class service and hospitality that will add the finishing touch to the entire reserve experience.

You are the chef, the baker, and the host. You are passionate about the backcountry experience, and you enjoy sharing the experience with the guests. You make each guest feel welcome and strive to make them feel special, comfortable, relaxed, safe, taken care of, and generally, right at home.

Job Responsibilities: Food & Beverage. Responsible for all the F&B ordering and stock control. Guest Service / Hospitality.

Anticipatory Service Professionalism Accountability: General maintenance. Teamwork / Communication. Commitment to the Environment. Risk Management.

Qualities: Passionate about delivering extraordinary meals as well as striving to provide guests with the best experience possible, every day. Self-starter with an incredible work ethic, keen to learn new skills and able to work with little or no supervision. Able to work long hours, but still have the coffee on by 6am and breakfast served as requested by guests. Team player, enthusiastic, friendly, adventurous, confident, dependable, and professional with a positive attitude. Exemplifies the term “Jack of all Trades” by taking the initiative to help out in every aspect of the reserve operation, whenever necessary. Always willing to learn and try out new fields.

Able to handle complex challenges and solve problems utilizing a win-win approach. Excellent communication skills. Highly organized, with an eye for detail. Physically fit.

Qualifications: Previous hospitality / Lodge hosting experience advantages. Relevant Tertiary diploma or degree compulsory. Contactable references. Must be computer literate. Must be able to work with a vast range of different cultures. Excellent and creative chef with experience planning meals and cooking for groups of up to 40 people. Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
