Senior Engineer - Cape Town (R 25,000 per month), Durbanville, Northern Suburbs. Company Name: HR Talent Partner. A very well-established IT company with an international footprint in UK, is looking for a ‘Senior Engineer’ to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Durbanville, Cape Town. Key responsibilities and required skills: Experience in similar Infrastructure Engineer role and confident with Windows and Mac OS. Managing network connections for Microsoft Windows Server Virtual machines based in Hyper V & VMware. Pushing service issues to 3rd party suppliers and providing an escalation point for internal team of Helpdesk engineers assisting them interacting with clients. Work with existing PowerShell scrips to manage and monitor servers and workstations for clients deployed via RMM. Assist with connecting on premise Active directory to Azure Active Directory and support existing connections. Assist with Mikrotik and Cisco network configuration and maintenance and troubleshooting. Monitor and Manage existing Veeam Backup for Servers, Microsoft 365 and workstation backup configurations. Liaise with application vendors for client’s infrastructure to facilitate access to and troubleshoot configuration of Microsoft SQL servers. Support and configure Remote desktop services on Microsoft Hyper V Virtual machines. Troubleshoot and manage Active Directory group policy configurations.
Preferable skills and experience: Working in a multi-client facing environment. Network routing & connectivity management. Ubiquity WiFi access point management involving central cloud controller. Advanced knowledge of networking and subnets within a multi office environment. A solid working knowledge of on-premise Windows Server 2008-2022 platforms and Azure cloud-based platform. Knowledge of MS office suites from 2010 to latest Microsoft 365 Applications. Strong scripting skills with PowerShell for infrastructure monitoring and API interaction. First-hand experience using Sophos, Cisco and Mikrotik routing hardware. ISO27001 compliance experience with Security KPI assessment and audit skills. Windows server clustering & A storage area network (SAN) experience. Experience with ITGlue, Network detective, Vulscan, Rocket Cyber, Addigy, SyncroMSP, Apple business manager, Windows Administration centre, Team Viewer. Deployment of RMM agents and using windows PowerShell scripting for insight and alert creation. API integration between applications and scripting. Backup of servers, workstation and 365 content with Veeam and Skykick. SSL management and web hosting content management technologies.
