The Opportunity As we embrace a period of significant change and growth, Anglicare Southern Queensland is seeking a visionary Chief Operating Officer for our Aged and Community Services. This executive role is critical in driving the strategic direction and operational management of our services, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional care and support. Your leadership will be instrumental in navigating this transformative phase, enhancing our service offerings, and leading our team toward new horizons of excellence and innovation.

Your Role and Responsibilities: Our Aged and Community Services portfolio is supported by approximately 2,500 staff, servicing 9 Residential Aged Care facilities, 4 retirement villages and providing care to approximately 30,000 clients in home and community care, with services spanning from the Gold Coast to Townsville and west into Roma and Toowoomba. As COO, ACS you will lead the team from our new, modern head office in Fortitude Valley.

Strategic Vision and Delivery: As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring our services align with the evolving needs of our community, embracing our core values while also driving us forward into a new future

Operational Excellence and Growth: Oversee the operational management of our aged and community services, implementing innovative strategies that foster continuous improvement, financial sustainability, and exceptional care delivery. Your leadership will be pivotal as we embark on capital projects to significantly expand our aged care portfolio and also lead change and reform.

Empowering Leadership: Cultivate a dynamic leadership style that inspires your team of senior managers, driving a culture of empowerment, excellence, accountability and client-led service. Your ability to mentor, guide, and inspire will be critical in achieving our strategic objectives and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Who We Are Looking For: An exceptional leader with extensive experience in highly complex and regulated industries, such as aged care, community care, human services, or the wider health sector, within a large, complex and geographically dispersed organisation. A strategic thinker with a proven track record in leading change, managing large-scale operations, and delivering best practice outcomes.

Adept in financial management, with experience overseeing significant budgets (over $100m p.a) and contributing to strategic planning. An effective communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, from team members to government agencies and community partners. Experience in managing large capital development projects. A curious thinker who will listen with the intent to understand and challenge where needed. Growth and visionary mindset who can identify, seize and actualise opportunities. Role Requirements: Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Behavioural Science, Human Services or related field. Post-graduate qualification in one of the above areas (desirable). Qualification or significant practical experience in Business Management. Ability and willingness to travel within the service region. Current National Police Certificate. Current Queensland Driver Licence. The ability to meet the requirements of a Key Personnel Check.
