The Role: Working as part of a close-knit SMSF team inside a larger multi-disciplinary accounting and wealth business, you enjoy an energetic and friendly environment, pay attention to detail, and have a desire to learn and improve your professional skillsets.

SMSF Accountant Role: You will receive training, support, and mentoring to build on your existing knowledge and to assist you in your role, which includes: Data entry, matching, and development of query lists for SMSF clients in order to prepare year financial statements and annual returns using BGL SF360 software. Assist clients to maintain their quarterly BAS and IAS reporting obligations. Take part in maintaining active data feeds and monitoring of SuperStream and TBAR reporting. Preparation of work papers within BGL. Use our workflow management tools to keep accurate records for each SMSF as it makes its way through its annual cycle. Learn effective verbal and written client communication from. Develop your knowledge of essential SMSF and tax laws, strategies, and estate planning to take your skills to the next level. Work closely with the Head of SMSF and the rest of the SMSF team to maintain a first-class experience for our clients.

Qualifications and Skills: (Selection Criteria). The ideal person for this role will be able to organise themselves and supervise others.

We are looking for someone with the following abilities: Tertiary qualifications in accounting, preferably either presently or working towards CPA/CA qualifications [financial and other support available]. 1-3 years of experience working with SMSFs, although exclusive SMSF experience is not necessary. BGL SF360 and Xero software experience is desirable. Good Microsoft Office skills. Excellent written and verbal English skills. Confident, positive, well-spoken, and professional manner. Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be flexible and willing to take on responsibilities. Ability to work to deadlines, continually improve, and embrace change. Strong problem-solving skills. High level of ethical standards, professionalism, and confidentiality.
