Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Lubricants with a strong background in procurement, operations, sales, trading, and overall business management. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the lubricant industry and oil and gas trading, with in-depth knowledge of purchasing, supply chain management, product development, and market expansion. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive business growth, optimize operations, and ensure profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business & Operations Management:
Oversee the entire lubricant division, ensuring smooth operations, cost control, and profitability.
Develop and implement business strategies to enhance market share and revenue.
Ensure compliance with Bahrain’s industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
Manage the entire supply chain, including procurement, production, storage, and distribution.
2. Procurement & Supply Chain Management:
Handle purchasing of raw materials, base oils, additives, and packaging materials.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and distributors.
Monitor market trends and negotiate competitive prices to optimize costs.
Ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials while maintaining inventory control and cost efficiency.
3. Sales & Business Development:
Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the lubricant business.
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and expansion plans in Bahrain and GCC markets.
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote and position lubricant products effectively.
Drive customer satisfaction and manage key client relationships.
4. Financial & Budget Management:
Oversee the financial performance of the lubricant division, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
Develop budgets, financial forecasts, and pricing strategies.
Control operational costs while maintaining product quality and efficiency.
5. Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage cross-functional teams including procurement, sales, production, and logistics.
Train, mentor, and develop employees to enhance performance and productivity.
Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
Minimum 10 years of experience in the lubricant industry, with expertise in procurement, sales, operations, and business development.
Strong knowledge of lubricant formulations, supply chain, and global procurement trends.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to drive growth and manage large teams.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Proficiency in ERP, SAP, or other supply chain management software.
