In our Self Protection Systems (SPS) organization, we are very busy on several new and extremely exciting projects; thus, we are looking for two systems engineers to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose—securing people through advanced technology.
Your role in our team
As our new systems engineer, your primary responsibility will be to drive technical projects from the requirement stage all the way to product delivery.
The projects that you will lead within the SPS organization have a very broad nature, in the sense that we are working with mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines and, to a large extent, the integration of these to become a final product, plus the integration of the product into our customers airborne solutions.
Working as a system engineer at Terma means that you will work with the entire value chain, from understanding customer requirements to integration of solutions at the customer.
You will have a wide range of interfaces and close cooperation with other project participants, including, among other systems, mechanical, electronics, and software engineers; testers; and project managers for the entire project. While you work, you will gain increasing responsibility for the overall product functionality and performance.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include
Understanding the situation of a customer and their needs and requirements, as well as the written and verbal communication, enabling you to transform this knowledge into a technical solution
Responsible for the verification and validation of the complete solution in cooperation with the developing engineers and test engineers
To be an important sparring partner for your colleagues in and outside the team
Participating in test activities necessary to ensure system and project delivery—including tests at the customer site
Participating in the team alignment events like planning, refinement, retrospective, and review/demo
Spare and knowledge share with your fellow systems engineers in the SPS area
Bring your world class expertise into play
As we are looking for two candidates within this area, we are looking to hire different profiles, both junior and senior, and are very open to different relevant educational backgrounds and experiences. Common for all is that we need competencies within the broad area of system engineering or similar experience. What is important is that you have drive and motivation for learning and developing within this field.
You hold a bachelor’s or a master’s degree within Mechanical, Electronic, or Software Engineering
You have experience with system development (preferably systems engineering)
You have experience with project management (but with a technical background)
You have experience with developing systems containing both software and hardware/electrical components
You have experience of involvement in NATO or EU defense projects
You are able to work on different layers of technical abstraction (component and full system)
You are able to decompose complex problems and systems into smaller segments
You have good understanding and experience within the different design phases represented in the V-model
As a person, you are great at stakeholder management, you can navigate in an interdisciplinary environment, and you thrive in taking responsibility for the progress and results of the technical part of a development project. Furthermore, you are a team player and take pride in communicating actively and acting proactively towards your teammates and stakeholders. Your great communication skills also enable you to communicate technical information on different levels. Finally, you approach problem-solving in a structured, analytical, and data-driven way.
