About Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University and Monash Health
MCHRI sits under the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Monash University. MCHRI is a collaborative partnership between Monash University and Monash Health. MCHRI utilizes public health research as well as the translation and implementation of clinical, health services, and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross-sector end-user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI works with a broader reach across Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre, nationally and internationally, in our research and translation endeavors. Our vision is to create, synthesize, implement, and translate clinical, healthcare, and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross-sector end-user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI has led organizational and individual leadership support programs in healthcare for nearly a decade.
Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership national initiative
The Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership (AWHL) national initiative is led by the Partnership Center for Gender Equity and Leadership Advancement, which sits within MCHRI. It involves 25+ partner organizations in health and medical sciences and is funded through two National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Partnership Project Grants. The AWHL initiative aims to disrupt the gender inequalities seen in healthcare leadership, where women are consistently underrepresented, despite comprising the majority of the healthcare workforce. Underpinned by a coproduction approach, AWHL works collaboratively with partner organizations and is creating a new knowledge base and designing evidence-based systems and organizational and individual interventions to advance women in healthcare leadership. Aligning with government reporting processes, partners are implementing interventions, measuring outcomes, and benchmarking their achievements with the sector.
