Our ICT team is a key enabler of the Commission’s digital transformation. They manage a hybrid infrastructure of cloud-based and on-premises systems to ensure secure, reliable, and innovative technology services. We are looking for an experienced business analyst to support the successful delivery of the commission’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system replacement project.

You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements across key corporate functions, contributing to the discovery phase by mapping current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring that business needs are clearly defined and aligned with the project’s objectives.

This full-time, non-ongoing/ongoing position offers a competitive salary range of $94,563 - $105,910 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.

This is for an initial 12-month engagement with the potential to extend for up to 2 more years to complete the new ERP deployment.

The key duties of the position include:

What You’ll Do:

Engage with stakeholders across Finance, People & Culture, ICT, and Facilities to understand current processes, systems, and pain points.

Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements to support the ERP discovery and procurement phases.

Assist in mapping current and future state processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.

Support the ERP Project Manager in planning and executing the discovery phase and procurement activities.

Contribute to the development of tender documentation and evaluation criteria in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are accurately captured and addressed.

Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather insights and validate requirements.

Assist in researching ERP solutions available in the market and assessing their alignment with the Commission’s needs.

Contribute to the identification and mitigation of risks related to business requirements and process changes.

Support the development of test plans and participate in system testing and validation activities during later phases of the project.

Eligibility

What We’re Looking For:

Strong understanding of ERP systems and their role in supporting corporate functions such as finance, HR, ICT, and facilities.

Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.

Proficiency in process mapping, business analysis techniques, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Familiarity with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and public sector governance frameworks.

Experience working on ERP or large-scale business systems projects, preferably within the public sector.

Qualifications in business analysis, information systems, project management, or a related field.

Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies. Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and business process modelling software.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Ability to facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather and validate business needs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
