We’re on the lookout for a highly experienced, motivated, and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at HOBBA Café, a landmark venue known for quality, consistency, and energy.
This role demands a true leader — someone who thrives under pressure, inspires excellence, and is driven to keep standards high across every service.
The Role
As Head Chef, you’ll take full ownership of kitchen operations — leading a talented brigade, overseeing quality and systems, and driving consistency and innovation across all menus.
You’ll work closely with senior management to refine operations, enhance efficiency, and contribute to the creative direction of the food offering.
Experience with events and catering will be highly regarded, as HOBBA also hosts a vibrant calendar of private events and functions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, structure, and the buzz of a large-scale operation.
About You
To be considered, you must demonstrate:
6to8+ years’ experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume café or restaurant
Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills — you bring out the best in your team
Proven ability to deliver consistency and quality under pressure
A hands-on leader who thrives during service and leads by example
Strong operational expertise — cost control, rostering, ordering, and kitchen systems
Creative flair with a love for fresh, modern café food and menu innovation
Excellent communication and collaboration with management and front-of-house teams
Experience in event or catering environments will be highly valued
