About the role
As an Accounts Officer, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring financial integrity and a strong customer focus. Reporting to the Financial Services Lead, you’ll support day?to?day operations that are essential to SA Water’s financial performance and high?quality customer service.
We currently have two positions available:
One 12?month maximum?term role focused on accounts payable
One full?time ongoing role focused on accounts receivable

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance and Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
We’re looking for motivated Accounts Officers to help deliver high?quality financial services that support our customers and our business.
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will:
Work collaboratively to process invoices totalling more than 1 billion each year
Support the coordination of EFT payments to suppliers
As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you will:
Accurately and efficiently process customer receipts for more than 800,000 SA Water customers
Across both roles, you will also:
Respond to customer account enquiries via phone, email and written correspondence
Work closely with the Finance team to meet performance goals and drive continuous improvement
Deliver customer?focused financial services and maintain accurate account records
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable (desirable).
Understanding of GST regulations and computer-based financial systems (desirable).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A team player with a proactive attitude and a commitment to service excellence.
