About the Role
You will be supporting a 34-year-old gentleman with:
Uncontrolled epilepsy
Autism
Intellectual disability
Bipolar disorder
Complex support needs
Behaviours of concern
High-intensity daily support requirements
Limited speech
He lives independently in his own home and receives 24-hour support provided by a 2:1 staffing model, meaning you will always work alongside another support worker.
Every day is different. Your role is to build trust, provide encouragement, promote independence and ensure his health, wellbeing and safety while supporting him to enjoy life in his community.
You’re Responsibilities
As part of our specialist SIL team, you will:
Provide respectful, person-centred support
Assist with all personal care and hygiene
Support meal preparation and healthy living
Support our client with his ADL's
Administer medication in accordance with organisational policies
Monitor and respond appropriately to seizure activity
Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies
Support emotional regulation and behavioural interventions
Assist with household tasks and maintaining a safe home
Support community participation, appointments and recreational activities
Promote road safety and safe community access
Complete accurate electronic case notes and incident reports
Work collaboratively with your teammate and allied health professionals

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
Current First Aid and CPR
Midazolam trained
Current Victorian Driver Licence
National Police Check
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Ability to administer medication or assistance with medication
Food handling
Waste Management
Availability to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
